Flexible kWh Tariffs – The Right Price at the Right Time
17 September 2026 – Aimo Charge now supports flexible kWh tariffs, allowing charging prices to be adjusted based on factors such as the time of day and day of the week.
Instead of having a fixed price per kWh at all times, charging prices can now vary depending on when charging takes place.
This creates opportunities to encourage charging at times that better suit the charging facility, while also giving EV drivers the possibility to benefit from lower prices during certain periods.
Prices can be adjusted based on charging times
Flexible tariffs can, for example, include:
Different prices during the day and night
Different prices on weekdays and weekends
Different prices at various times of the day
Temporarily adjusted prices on selected days or during specific periods
Tariffs can be tailored to the needs and conditions of each charging facility.
What does this mean for EV drivers?
For EV drivers, flexible tariffs offer the opportunity to influence charging costs by choosing when to charge.
For example, if a charging facility offers a lower kWh rate at night, drivers who can charge during those hours may benefit from lower charging costs.
What does this mean for charging facility operators?
For property owners, businesses and other customers operating their own charging facilities, flexible tariffs provide a new way to influence when charging takes place.
By setting different prices at different times, operators can encourage more charging during periods of lower demand or when charging is more advantageous for other reasons.
Example of a flexible tariff
A flexible tariff could look like this:
22:00–06:00 – SEK 3.95/kWh
06:00–16:00 – SEK 5.25/kWh
16:00–22:00 – SEK 4.50/kWh
Prices and times are examples only and can be adjusted for each charging facility.
The right price at the right time can help shift charging to more favourable periods, while giving EV drivers greater control over their charging costs.
